Retail Associate

Summary

Lake Erie Pet Food Co. is hiring a Retail Associate that will focus on customer service and sales in our retail store in Ohio City as well as light marketing responsibilities.

Our ideal candidate is an energetic, detail oriented person who loves dogs and cats and is ready to jump to a variety of duties. We are looking for someone interested in a long-term position with advancement opportunity at our rapidly growing local company. They should also be ready to get super knowledgeable about pet nutrition and well-being. Most importantly, they should be customer service superstars that go above and beyond with every customer interaction.

Job Description:

Sales and Customer Service - 80%

  • Greet every pet and customer that walks through the door
  • Know every recipe and product and recommend the right one
  • Comfortable answering calls and speaking on the phone 
  • Create awesome merchandising displays and stock them
  • Inventory and packaging of bulk treats
  • Identify new product and merchandising opportunities
  • Keep the store clean, neat and appealing.

Marketing & Social Media- 20%

  • Provide marketing and sales support at markets and events as needed
  • Post customer photos and promos to our Instagram and Facebook social media accounts
  • Seek out new opportunities for events and collaborations.

     Requirements:

    • Self-directed and independent with interest in career advancement
    • Previous experience in retail sales, marketing, or customer service.
    • Come to work reliably and on time and looking neat, clean and approachable
    • Proficient with iOS (iPad) and Windows-based computer systems.
    • Ability to lift 30lbs occasionally and climb ladder for stocking

     Schedule:

    • Hours required would be 10:30-3pm Tue-Fri and 10:30-4pm on Saturday
    • Schedule is consistent week to week, 22-24 hours
    • Occasional opportunities to work extra hours (no later than 6pm)
